URBiNAT will be present at the Festival of the New European Bauhaus from 9 to 12 June 2022 in Brussels, Belgium. Designed around three pillars, Forum, Fair and Fest, the Festival of the New European Bauhaus brings together stakeholders from all walks of life to debate and shape our future landscape. It is also a key opportunity to get citizens on board and raise awareness of the power of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) values of beauty, sustainability and togetherness in addressing societal challenges.
For this first edition of the Festival of the New European Bauhaus, URBiNAT looks forward to sharing some of the creative and innovative results achieved by engaging with local communities to envision and build healthier cities together for a sustainable and inclusive future.
During the New European Bauhaus Festival, URBiNAT aims at showcasing creative tools and methodologies for citizens engagement; making known some of its co-creation stories for an inclusive and innovative urban regeneration; and inviting visitors to experience some of URBiNAT’s innovative tools and solutions to support the co-creation of nature-based solutions.

The New European Bauhaus is a creative and interdisciplinary initiative that connects the European Green Deal to our living spaces and experiences. The New European Bauhaus initiative calls on all of us to imagine and build together a sustainable and inclusive future that is beautiful for our eyes, minds, and souls.
URBiNAT is a 5-year EU Horizon 2020-funded project (2018-2023) targeting the regeneration and integration of social housing and city areas through co-creation of healthy corridors consisting of innovative and flexible NBS.
In partnership with an international network of cities, the project proposes new models of urban development in the public space encouraging positive social interactions and foster social cohesion in ways that enhance the well-being of the citizens. The cities of Porto, Nantes and Sofia act as “frontrunners”, due to their innovative use of public space with nature-based solutions (NBS). The cities of Siena, Brussels, Nova Gorica and Høje-Taastrup, acting as “followers”, share and replicate the URBiNAT concepts and methodologies. Moreover, the project collaborates with a network of non-European cities, such as Khorramabad City in Iran, acting as “observers”.
