Sara Candiracci is an urban planner and Associate Director at Arup in London, where she leads the Inclusive and Resilient Cities programme and manages a number of projects related to the child-friendly city. She is on the technical committee of the Real Play Coalition, involving Arup, LEGO Foundation, National Geographic, IKEA and Unicef, whose mandate is to enhance the value of play in the design and planning of cities. She is the lead author of the urban design guide Proximity of Care Design Guide, produced with the Bernard van Leer Foundation. Before starting her collaboration with Arup, she worked with several UN agencies and the World Bank in various African, Asian and Latin American countries.
