COP27: URBiNAT speakers on 2 EU Expert Panels
From November 7-18, several Horizon 2020 funded projects will be featured in sessions organised by the European Commission and the European Research Executive Agency at the EU Pavilion at UNCC COP 27.
Joint forces will participate with several activities:
- Workshops and events
- Projects and companies pitches
- One-to-EU meetings with European Commission representatives
URBiNAT speakers have been asked to participate on two expert panels on co-creation of NBS and a nature-positive economy for climate and biodiversity benefits.
Side Event 1: Co-creation of nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation
Stakeholder and community engagement is a crucial aspect in planning and implementing nature-based solutions (NBS) to shape common understanding of challenges, such as climate adaptation and human and ecological well-being, and how NBS could solve them. This session pulls together diverse experiences and perspectives, drawing on EU funded research and innovation as well as cases from around the world how to integrate and mainstream co-creation in strategic planning and urban regeneration.
Side Event 2: A nature positive economy for climate and biodiversity benefits
In this session, businesses, researchers, and policy makers consider the evidence, best practices, tools, and strategies in support of a nature-positive economy. The benefits for biodiversity, ecosystems, and climate are highlighted. Although many are committed to adopting nature-positive practices, hindrances prevail and clarity on the way forward is often lacking. We examine the driving forces for a nature-based economy, showcase success stories and draw lessons what can be achieved going forward.
9 November – 1:30 to 2:30 CET
