Speaker profiles:
Alicia Villazán Cabero: Environmental Science Degree from the University of Salamanca and Master Degree in Environmental Management in Business from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, with 15 years of experience in project management, focused on environment, sustainability, G.I.S. and waste management. She works as innovation senior technician for Valladolid City Council, in the management of international nature-based solutions projects such as the Horizon 2020 EU project ‘URBAN GreenUP’ and ‘Urban Waterbuffer’. Entrepreneur, she worked in environmental consultancy in Mexico, Ireland and Spain. She was also a teacher for the Polytechnic University of Madrid and high-level trainer in Mexico.
Paul Van Roosmalen: Currently working as a programme manager for the Department of Sustainability at the Municipality of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. His work focuses on Rooftops, as he is the programme manager of the Rotterdam rooftops programme, in which they approach rooftops as additional space in the city to accommodate a wide variety of functions. It is called multi-functional rooftop development. For the last decade, he has worked at the municipality of Rotterdam on construction projects ranging from schools to parking garages, from green roofs to European tenders, from boulder walls to Multi-functional accommodations, from skate parks to restoration projects, and from wagon sheds to municipal office buildings.
