The Porto-based photographer Carlos Barradas is one of the winners of the “Cities in the City” open call for proposals in connection with the Bienal’21 Fotografia do Porto. He will receive one of two grants, worth 2,200 euros for a photographic project focused on the local implementation of the URBiNAT project, in Porto.
For the 2021 edition of the Photographic Bienale, winners are challenged to develop photographic projects on urban community initiatives in the field of social and ecological justice. Around 70 artists / collectives responded to the challenge – a very significant number, both in quantitative and qualitative terms, bearing in mind the specificities of the call.
The photos produced as part of the project will be shown during an exhibition at the Sao Bento Metro Station, as part of the Bienal’21 Fotografia do Porto and PHotoESPAÑA 2021, from 14 May to 27 June 2021. Watch this space!
