Con la chiusura delle scuole si è conclusa una fase importante del percorso di partecipazione del progetto H2020 URBiNAT (Urban Innovative & Inclusive Nature), che vede coinvolto il Comune di Siena insieme ad altre 7 città europee per la rigenerazione di spazi verdi attraverso un percorso condiviso tra pubblica amministrazione e cittadini.
A Siena l’area di intervento individuata è quella del quartiere di Ravacciano, dove già da tempo è stato avviato il percorso di coinvolgimento dei cittadini e che negli ultimi mesi ha visto la partecipazione attiva degli Istituti scolastici del quartiere.
Partendo e ispirandosi alla natura e al valore degli spazi verdi per la salute individuale e collettiva, i bambini hanno contribuito con riflessioni, testi e disegni a individuare i problemi e a pensare a possibili soluzioni che che migliorino la qualità di vita e di fruizione delle aree verdi.
“E’ stato bello vedere i ragazzi coinvolti in un progetto nato per migliorare il quartiere in cui vivono – ha spiegato Clio Biondi Santi, assessore alle politiche giovanili del Comune di Siena – il tema della sostenibilità è un tema che i giovani hanno molto a cuore, li ho trovati molto preparati e interessati alla materia. Gli spazi esterni, in questo momento storico condizionato dalla pandemia, hanno assunto ancora più valore, sono tematiche alle quali le nuove generazioni guardano con molta attenzione.”
Tra gli obiettivi didattici di questo percorso, strutturato a più mani tra operatori del Comune di Siena e dalle insegnanti, quello di far riflettere i bambini sull’importanza degli spazi verdi e su come questi possono essere luogo di relazioni sociali, lasciando libera la loro fantasia.
Nei prossimi mesi l’obiettivo sarà quello di approfondire i bisogni dei cittadini, esplorando con target diversi le possibili soluzioni di rigenerazione e verificando la fattibilità delle soluzioni individuate.
Hanno partecipato al progetto 3 classi dell’istituto Comprensivo “P.A. Mattioli”, 6 classi della Scuola Primaria “S.Martini” e i bambini della Scuola dell’Infanzia “E.Pestalozzi”, con il coinvolgimento attivo delle insegnanti, in particolare: Chiara Caponi, Paola Lazzeroni, Tiziana Zamparelli, Irene Pertici, Mirella Faragò, Ivana De Lucia, Manuela Vallerani, Susanna De Candia, Alessandra Bernardini, Maresa Magini, Romina Mariotti, Amelia Iacovelli, Rossela Santini, Fatima Sacchi, Antonella Picchioni, Giusi Di Pasquale, Cinzia Griffo Tanina Leone, Laura Pisani, Elena Machetti.
With the closing of the schools, an important phase of the participation process of the H2020 URBiNAT (Urban Innovative & Inclusive Nature) project has come to an end. The project involves the Municipality of Siena, together with 7 other European cities, for the regeneration of green spaces through a shared path between public administration and citizens.
In Siena, the area of intervention identified is that of the Ravacciano neighborhood, where the process of involving citizens has been underway for some time and which, in recent months, has seen the active participation of the neighborhood’s schools.
Starting from and inspired by nature and the value of green spaces for individual and collective health, the children have contributed with reflections, texts and drawings to identify problems and to think of possible solutions to improve the quality of life and use of green areas.
“It was nice to see the kids involved in a project created to improve the neighborhood where they live – explained Clio Biondi Santi, Councillor for Youth Policies of the City of Siena – the theme of sustainability is one that young people have very much at heart, I found them very prepared and interested in the subject. Outdoor spaces, in this historical moment conditioned by the pandemic, have taken on even more value, they are issues to which the new generations look with great attention.”
Among the didactic objectives of this path, structured by several hands between operators of the Municipality of Siena and teachers, is to make children reflect on the importance of green spaces and how they can be a place of social relations, leaving free their imagination.
In the next months the objective will be to deepen the needs of the citizens, exploring with different targets the possible solutions of regeneration and verifying the feasibility of the identified solutions.
