Espaço verde que nascerá na zona oriental da cidade aposta na consolidação das necessidades das pessoas, tanto ao nível da mobilidade pedonal, como de intervenção na infraestrutura verde, dando prioridade a soluções de base natural.

Coser o que está fragmentado, responder às necessidades da população, e preparar o território para os desafios climáticos – estes são os grandes objetivos da construção do Parque da Alameda de Cartes, que surgirá na zona oriental da cidade.

Na sequência da aprovação, por unanimidade, dos pontos 12 e 13 (cedência em direito de superfície – crematório e reversão do terreno cedido em direito de superfície à Real Associação Humanitária dos Bombeiros Voluntários do Porto) da ordem de trabalhos da Reunião de Executivo de segunda-feira, estão reunidas as condições para a criação deste novo espaço verde. O projeto do Parque da Alameda de Cartes, que já tinha sido abordado anteriormente, foi apresentado em pormenor aos vereadores, tendo merecido rasgados elogios.

Num território que tem merecido atenção particular – estão em curso ou serão lançados projetos como o Matadouro, o Terminal Intermodal de Campanhã, a Corujeira – o futuro Parque da Alameda de Cartes será mais uma peça para completar este puzzle. “Estamos a falar do território-chave da fragmentação urbana. É neste território que temos as grandes infraestruturas viárias, como a VCI, a A43, a linha ferroviária, que fazem com que para muitos dos portuenses este território não pertencesse sequer ao Porto. Estas são as muralhas do século XX que acabam por gerar esta distância física, mas também esta distância psicológica”, começou por notar o arquiteto José Miguel Lameiras, na apresentação que fez aos vereadores.

The green area to be created in the eastern part of the city is designed to reflect people’s needs, both in terms of pedestrian mobility and intervention in green infrastructure, giving priority to nature-based solutions.

Weaving together are area that is currently fragmented, responding to the needs of the population, and preparing the territory for climate challenges – these are the main objectives of the construction of the Alameda de Cartes Park, which will appear in the eastern part of the city.

Following the unanimous approval of items 12 and 13 (cession of surface rights – crematorium and reversion of the land ceded as surface rights to the Real Associação Humanitária dos Bombeiros Voluntários do Porto) of the agenda of Monday’s Executive Meeting, the conditions for the creation of this new green space are gathered. The project of the Alameda de Cartes Park, which had been previously discussed, was presented in detail to the councillors, having been highly praised.

In a territory that has been the focus of particular attention – projects such as the Slaughterhouse, the Intermodal Terminal of Campanhã, Corujeira are underway or will be launched – the future Park of Alameda de Cartes will be another piece to complete this puzzle. “We are talking about the key territory of urban fragmentation. It is in this territory that we have the major road infrastructures, such as the VCI, the A43, the railway line, which mean that for many portuenses this territory did not even belong to Porto. These are the walls of the 20th century that end up generating this physical distance, but also this psychological distance”, began the architect José Miguel Lameiras, in his presentation to the city councillors.
