Gender: Balance & Lens
URBiNAT’s general commitment to gender is very high. However, there is still room for improvement and more can and should be done to address gender equity issues both within the URBiNAT consortium and with regards to those being involved in the project activities on the spot.
Against this background, a Consortium Meeting dedicated to “Gender – Balance & Lens” will take place on 5 April, from 15h30 -18h via Zoom.
The meeting will be divided into three parts:
The first part will be devoted to gender in the consortium. After being split into break-out rooms for men and women, lively discussions between the participants are expected around the impact of gender inbalance on the consortium leadership and management, measures to raise women’s level of influence in decision-making, and measures to improve the visibility of women in URBiNAT.
The following part will put a gender lens on URBiNAT’s activities in the participating cities: The objective is to examine the participation of women in the co-creation process and to build a list of best practices to rely on.
Analysis is good, but action must follow: The meeting will close with setting up an URBiNAT Gender Task Force, an internal task force on gender related issues (composition, tasks and scope to be co-created during the meeting).
